About Me
My name is Tammy Boyd. I am a wife, an at home mom, a previous personal chef and most recently, a NARHA Certified Therapeutic Riding Instructor. I am a woman with many interests and there just doesn’t seem to be an end in sight.
I recently received my certification in April of 2009 and am currently working part-time teaching lessons at Friends for Therapeutic Equine Activities (FTEA) in Winfield, Illinois. This dream started some 9 years ago when I first volunteered at Cowboy Dreams in Barrington, Illinois. I grew up with horses and have loved horses all my life, but this volunteering lit a fire in me when it came to helping children and adults with disabilities. To witness how a horse helps people in this situation is truly an amazing thing to be a part of.
I am also starting the long process of getting my Bachelor’s Degree in Child and Family Social Services and hope to one day put all these interests together. That’s why for now, I thought I would put them all together in a blog (I hope to even write a book one day!)
I believe strongly in following your dreams and taking risks to get there. I live my life to the full and I try and have fun along the way. Without the support of my husband and my two boys, I definately could not do it. They keep me going, they make me laugh, and sometimes they give me a lot of things to say!
Thoreau put it best, “Go confidently in the direction of your dreams. Live the life you have imagined.”
